Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT HOLDS YOUR WINDSHIELD IN PLACE?

Automakers use urethane adhesive to bond the windshield to the body of the car.

WHAT DOES THE WINDSHIELD DO FOR YOUR SAFETY?

For the air bag to work as designed, it must deflect off the windshield. The adhesive must hold the windshield in place during the impact. To keep the occupants of your vehicle safe, it's important to use a quality adhesive that is approved by the vehicle manufacturer and proper installation procedures.

HOW SOON CAN I DRIVE MY VEHICLE AFTER INSTALLATION?

A minimum of two hours is the recommended safe drive a way time.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO WAIT THE PRESCRIBED TIME BEFORE DRIVING THE VEHICLE?

For safety – it takes time to meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) requirements for windshield retention. The longer the urethane adhesive cures, the stronger the bond.
